The Gardaí needed a secure voice communications platform which could be installed and configured with a minimum of delay and a high degree of reliability to ensure continuity of service during the critical days of one of the world’s most popular sporting events.

Solution
The Opera Flexicom, marketed in Ireland by eircom business systems as the advantage 4800, has a remote maintenance capability which meant that two Flexicom systems could be installed and configured remotely in a matter of hours. The system’s AES voice encryption guarantees secure voice communications channels to remote IP extensions and the integrated battery backup provided protection against possible power outages. The optional applications card offered secure password protected voicemail boxes.

The ease of call handling offered by the digital system phones Operaphone Executive and Operaphone Standard ensured a smooth and professional flow of calls throughout the critical days of the 36th Ryder Cup Tournament.
